Story of our meeting:
Our Moms are best friends and have been for some time.  Her mom's is name Jan, and my mom's name is Beth.  Beth had 3 boys, and Jan had three girls.  They had always hoped that two of their offspring would get together.  Well,  you know the old scripture about God giving the desires of the heart?  Well, let me start at the beginning.
Nancy and I were the youngest of our families, not including the absolute blessings that are additions to her family of Jessica Moriah and Daniel.  When my mom seperated from my dad, my mom, my two brothers and I, revisited our old friends in Michigan.    While up there, Nancy and I ran into a mutual aquaintance.  We went over to her house and had a blast.  We  went swimming and played a little pool; I am sorry to say that I got my pool stick taken away for losing so bad.   Well, Nancy and I got to know each other and we became semi aquainted with each other.  Conversations were a little ackward because we didn't know much about each other, but we were able to have a little chat to pass time.  To make a long story even longer, I went back to Louisiana, and Nancy and I didn't really keep in touch.  I think we wrote each other one letter.
Then a few years later, Nancy graduated from High School, and she sent my mom a graduation invitation.  In the envelope was two pictures of Nancy, both very nice looking, but she doesn't think they do.  In the invitation was an email address.  I decided to take it upon myself to send her an email saying, "Hi" and such.  She got the email.  I think I even got one back.  How's that for stepping out on a limb?  I guess it really does work. :o)
Well, I think we got to two letters back and forth, but then her letters to me stopped.  I just figured that she was really busy because in all her letters it seemed as she had a lot going on at the time.  That was fine with me; I understand a busy schedule.  Every now and then I would run across her letters while going through my email, and I would write her another letter.  I wrote about 3 email like this.
I had not heard from her in a couple of months.  I was beginning to worry if eveything was ok.  Then one day, I got this letter in the mail.  It was a Veggie Tale envelope on Veggie Tale stationary.  How cool is that?  Needless to say, I was very impressed with the letter.  On the very end of the letter was an Instant Messager name.  I used IM all the time at work.  I was so excited; I was actually excited to go to work.  That didn't happen very often.  I was bouncing off the walls at work.  It seemed like forever before she logged onto IM.  Finally she did.  It was the longest conversation that I have ever held on IM.  I only wish I would have saved that conversation.  I have saved many of our conversations since then.   She didn't log on for another week.   I was worried about her.  She finally logged on and we talked some more.   We learned a great deal about each other, and we found we have a lot in common.  Sometimes I think that we are only picking up the conversation where we left off the last time we talked.  We never really run out of things to say.
So, I had talked to her on IM, I had written her letters, but I had never talked to her on the phone.  So the second week we were talking on IM, I asked her if she would mind if I called her.  Well, she didn't mind, or that was what she told me.  The truth of the matter was she was praying that I wouldn't call.  Well, I think that was the first time I let her down by showing her that I am not the typical male.  When I say I am going to call, there is a really good reason why I didn't.  Not just because I didn't call.   I called her and we talked for eight, count them...1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8 hours.  I have never talked on the phone that long with someone.  It was a great conversation.  We talked and talked.  I even had the cordless phone go dead on me.  That had never happened to me before, so I switched to the corded phone.
Nancy and I have been talking ever since.  I have never found such a girl.  She is simply amazing, but you will hear all about that later.  Well, it seems that Aunt Jan, the afore mentioned Jan but not our real aunt, was planning to come down to see my family.  Nancy had an extra ticket that she had not used.  Well next thing I know, Nancy was coming down to Louisiana with her mom.  Wow,  God is so awesome.   Nancy and Aunt Jan came down in the later part of March.  There had been some indications of a future really close friendship in the future.  We spend so much time on IM it was not even funny.  Even Aunt Jan thought we spent too much time on it, and its free. ;o)
When Nancy and her mom came down, it seemed like everything had been planned out from the begining.  Hmmm oh wait...It had.  God planned it out.  I love it how a plan comes together.
To make this a little shorter, I will sum up the rest of the story.  Nancy and I are still best friends and always will be.  She is my girlfriend whom I love very much.  We have spent much time on the phone, IM, and in prayer.  When we talk on the phone, we end our conversations on the phone with a prayer to the Center of our relationship.  God.  He is the only key to a successful relationship.
I left out most of the good stuff about nancy and I, and if you want the info just email me @ [email protected]
